Calipatria Unified School District is a public school system serving the communities of Calipatria, Niland, and Bombay Beach in Imperial County. The district is located approximately 150 miles east of San Diego and 40 miles north of the Mexican border.  The district encompasses approximately 480 square miles, bordering the southeastern part of the Salton Sea.   

 

Calipatria USD has 2 elementary schools.  Fremont Primary School, serving grades TK-4, in Calipatria.  Grace Smith School, providing a K-4 setting for students from Niland, Bombay Beach, and the community of Slab City.  

Bill E. Young, Jr. Middle School, located in Calipatria, provides the district's 5-8 grade program.  Calipatria High School, located in Calipatria, provides the district's 9-12 grade program. The district's office is located in Calipatria.
